I just don’t get out enough. Because of the wheelchair I have learned to work through surrogates to get most things done that are needful. Also, since living here in Carrasco requires an extra 20 or 30 minutes to get anywhere it fuels my disinclination to leave my desk. This is a mistake.

It may not be a tough as giving birth, but it sure was a lot of work. The file was created on 22 July 2006, at 11:25:02. The last modification was made this morning (I hope). In just a few days less than 100, The Southron’s Guide to Living in Uruguay has been written.

For those of us who need the occasional foray into the evening drinking establishments, Montevideo is both adequate and has multiple offerings. In terms of an 'expat' scene there is not a specific place in Montevideo that I know of as an “expat hangout”. Generally speaking, nightlife in Montevideo starts Thursday and finishes Sunday morning.
