Yesterday the temperature hit 18C (64F).  It was bright and sunny and except for the bare branches on the tree in front of my office, one would have thought Spring was around the corner.  With the exception of last Saturday’s rains, the weather has been pretty nice.  These are “Los Veranillos de San Juan”, the little summers of San John—sort of an Indian Summer in the middle of the Winter.  They are given that name because the appear around the Feast Day of St. John the Baptizer which is June 24 on the Catholic Calendar or July 7th on the Orthodox Old Calendar—this year we were closer!

But change is on the way—they are predicting Snow for the weekend!
