I mean being held up on dsl internet because of a different ppt no. is understandable but why couldn't he have just given his old number when he ordered the move. If your answer is that he had to show up in person to order the move of the internet lines, and show ppt again, then why can't someone checking his ppt not obviously identify him at that point and simply add in the new number etc. ? Too if this is done over the phone probably just wasn't thinking that he could just have told him the same info that was initially on the application. The short answer is YES it is that pointlessly bureaucratic here!  This is our 5th country and we have gotten pretty good at anticipating all of the obstacles, but I haven’t found anything yet that will motivate a bureacrat when they get confused by something.  Especially here where “honoraria” do not work…

It took me over 40 years to figure that out, but I've since applied that rule to bosses, old (now former) friends, and strangers. I say apply it to Bruce and revoke his subscription to the blog. I love reading your blog and love your book. Please don't let nutjobs like Bruce get you down.
