I have noticed a phenomenon which, while personally gratifying, is not good for the development of the blog. Many of you are writing to me personally, rather than posting a comment on the blog.
I realize that many of these emails are personal and I try to respond to all of them, except for the occansional abusive missive which I print on biodegradable rice paper, pour gravy on, and give to the dogs. (That way it ends up on the lawn in the same form as it started.)
Anyway, my point is this: if your email is not really private, why not let the entire community share in our scintillating repertoire?
If you are having problems posting a comment, email it to me as a comment and I will post it for you. But let’s not let the blog become languorous while my private correspondence burgeons.

We used to be able to lurk and comment anonymously simply by typing in that easy, simple, numerical code. It took me a while to figure out the silly puzzles (the ones that appear to have multiple layerings of symbols, in darker and lighter shades, while playing match the derivatives on each side next to the secret code) that were required to sign up for the forum, which I did first. A person commenting here and on the forms has to register two times as opposed to having just one login to the various affiliated sites.
In a fewer words, it’s a lot more complicated now and having your email at the click of a mouse is much, much easier.
So think just think of the rest of us who comment via email, vs. the blog, as “smarter” in taking the path of least resistance.
==================
How can I argue with logic like that?
I do understand the frustration people have, the first time I saw the moderators console I wanted to cry…
On the up side, we now have a lot more functionality. People can talk back and forth on the Forum directly and without me in the middle, and I can keep at the blog, add to the forum when the mood strikes, and hopefully, finish the book this coming week.
