Guest entry by Adrian, a British gentleman living in Slick Willy land (Arkansas to those who don’t recognize the reference):
We both thank you for your kind hospitality shown to us, it was really great to meet the team.
It seems that interest in the area is gathering momentum, during our stay at the Plaza Fuerte we met a young man who worked for a Company producing Travel Shows.
It seems the Travel Channel have realized that not much has been produced on South America, so they are making a series with Samantha Brown, similar to the Travels in Europe series, he told us it should be on the TV by about March 2007.
Our stay in that area was somewhat entertaining, having been trapped in the elevator in the morning, this was so temperamental I nicknamed it “el diablo” you just had to ride it with a sense of adventure and fun, though once released from it’s grip, Sybil would only use the stairs, kept muttering about not wanting to end her days in a lift shaft.
This was followed up by an interesting evening meal at the Don Perone across the Pedestrian Walkway.
We were tucking in to our meal when the smoke appeared to get a little thicker and take on a more pungent smell. I was cracking quips about throwing another used tire on the Parilla, which had a really good blaze going. All of a terrible sudden lots of Staff started appearing from below stairs wearing worried looks. People started to shift about, so we managed to finish off our main course as the evacuation got underway.
Everyone milled around outside while the waiters tried to match customers with bills, of course the “odd bod” took advantage of the situation, but a clear majority settled up with good grace.
The *Bombadier’s then turned up and kindly provided the next installment of the evening’s entertainment, with lots of running around and performing stunts with their hoses.
Later on in our visit, as we were on our way to dinner, prior to a good scream at the Teatro Solis, when we also encountered a film crew making an ad’ for Sol, and this is not to mention the major happening and sad collapse of the Colonial building.
This place is anything but boring.
We both seemed sold on MVD, very impressed with the people, and it seems a great place to enjoy a better quality of life. As Arnold would say “I’ll Be Back” just lots to sort out though, such as selling our log cabin etc., etc.
Very impressed with the new look Blog by the way, really getting organized, some good stuff getting posted.

*Southron’s note: I hope to God he means “Bomberos” - firemen! Posting a word like “Bombadier’s” may get us on a black list and the NSA certainly has enough lines to tap already…
