Astronomically, Spring began 1 week ago yesterday on 23 September at 00.02 Uruguay time. (In case you Northern Hemisphere Dwellers have forgotten, the seasons are reversed here.)

Today the most noticeable sign of Spring occurs, Summer Time is here.

If you are living in Uruguay, and have not already done so, you need to change your clocks so that it is ONE HOUR LATER.

Now for the interesting part: Argentina doe snot observe summer time. So from today until we change back, Uruguay is 1 hour later than Argentina. There is no change, however relative to Brazil as Uruguay goes on and off Summer Time with our giant northern neighbor.

If you are in North America or Europe, there is a time difference relative to you, but only for 4 weeks until you go office daylight/summer time, when the relative time difference changes even more drastically. For now however…

Uruguay is 4 hours earlier than Central European Time
3 hours earlier than UK/Ireland/Portugal Time

2 hours later than Eastern Time
3 hours later than Central Time
4 hours later than Mountain Time
5 hours later than Pacific time.

I have no idea what this does relative to Alaska and Hawaii, I never figured that one out, even when I lived in the States–y’all are on your own there..

Stay tuned for your next reminder when you go off Daylight/Summer time at the end of theis month.
